Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Cairo Center for Economic and Strategic Studies handles information that reaches it through this website. Please read it before sending us anything.
Information you choose to send
We do not ask for any personal information simply to browse the website. Information reaches us only when you choose to submit one of the following forms:
Contact form: your name and email address, your phone number and subject if you add them, and the text of your message.
Consultation request: your name, email address and phone number, and — where you provide them — your organisation, the service you are interested in, a preferred date, an indicative budget and the text of your request, together with an optional attached document.
Job application: the details the form collects, such as your name, contact details, country, city, years of experience, professional profile link and covering letter, along with the CV you attach.
Purpose of processing
We use this information only for the purpose you sent it for: answering your enquiry, reviewing and following up a consultation request, or assessing a job application. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for marketing purposes.
Attached documents
CVs and documents attached to consultation requests are not stored in the website's public folder. They are held in a private location outside the area reachable directly from the internet, with no public link and no public download endpoint pointing at them. Access is available to authorised staff through the content dashboard only.
Cookies and measurement
The public website does not use tracking cookies, and no analytics or advertising measurement tool runs on it. The staff content dashboard uses a session cookie, which is required for signing in and nothing else.
Where a page contains an embedded video, the request to the video provider is made only if you choose to play it, and we use the provider domain that does not set tracking cookies before playback.
Technical data
The systems the website runs on may keep ordinary technical operating logs for operational and security purposes, such as request details and the time of a request. These logs are not part of a visitor profile and are not used for advertising or tracking.
Information security
We apply reasonable organisational and technical measures to limit unauthorised access to what you send, including keeping private documents separate from public files and restricting dashboard access to approved accounts. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we do not claim absolute security.
Retention
We keep what you send for as long as is needed for the purpose it was sent for, and for any longer period the center's records require. No fixed period is set in this version of the policy; it will be stated here once it is agreed.
External links
The website links to third parties, including social media accounts and the data sources we cite. Those parties have their own privacy policies, and we do not control their content or how they handle your information.
Enquiries about your information
If you have sent us information and want to ask about it, or ask for it to be updated or removed, you can contact us through the Contact page setting out your request, and we will handle it as far as the nature of the request and the center's records allow.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when the way the website or its forms work changes. The version published on this page is the one in effect.
